1. Is there a way to quickly go back to today's date? What additional navigation shortcuts are available?

Clicking the digit button (2) will take you back to today's date. Included below is a complete list of shortcut buttons that can be used:

  • (2) - Navigate to today's date on all Papyrus calendar views
  • (1), (3) - Navigate to previous and following month respectively on all Papyrus calendar views
  • (4), (6) - Navigate to previous and following year respectively on all Papyrus calendar views
  • (5) - Access the Go To Date dialog directly to navigate to any custom date
  • (8), (0) - Scroll up and down on the Preview Pane when more content is available. Active only on the Monthly and Tasks views when including the Preview Pane.

  • Furthermore, you can use the D-Pad left and right navigation buttons to move to the respective previous and next time period for each of the views (previous/next day on the Daily view, week on the Grid view etc.)

    2. Can I set Papyrus to replace the default Calendar and Tasks applications on my device?

Yes. When installing Papyrus on your device you will see the following check box option: Replace PIM shortcuts with Papyrus. Checking this option during the installation process will replace the Calendar and Tasks default shortcuts with Papyrus. Additionally, pressing the Calendar item on your Home screen will open Papyrus too.

When using Facade and Papyrus on the same device Facade will automatically integrate with Papyrus and items will be opened using Papyrus instead of the default Calendar and Tasks applications.

In some cases you might need to restart your phone in order for this change to take effect following Papyrus initial installation.

    3. How can I enter Papyrus Settings section?

After launching Papyrus press the right soft-key Menu button and choose the Setting option.

    4. How can I determine the exact Papyrus version I'm running?

First open Papyrus Settings, then press the Register or About button - also marked as (9) (the caption of this button vary based on the application registration status). Within the Papyrus About screen dialog you will find the complete version and build details for the Papyrus version you are using.

    5. I just purchased a license for Papyrus and received my registration information. Where should I enter this information?

After purchasing the application online you will receive your registration details. These registration details (username and key) should be entered within the Papyrus Registration Dialog in order to complete the registration process.

To enter the Registration Dialog please navigate to: Papyrus Settings -> Register/About button. Then press the left Register soft-key button.

Within the Registration dialog you will find two edit fields. Enter the username and key you received within these two fields and press the right Register soft-key button to complete the registration process.

    6. How can I use Papyrus' MyText feature to create new items more efficiently?

Papyrus MyText enable faster insertion of pre-defined text strings when creating new items, designed especially to speed text insertion on mobile devices. When creating a new appointment or task place the input focus on the subject or location fields and press the D-Pad Action/Enter button. This will slide the Advance Actions Selection Dialog, including the "Insert MyText Field". Another press on the D-Pad Action/Enter button will load the MyText Selection Dialog.

Use the D-Pad Up/Down navigation buttons or the corresponding digit number to select the desired MyText field. After selecting a MyText item it will be appended to the current field text.

If the number of MyText fields doesn't fit within the screen you will be able to switch between different MyText pages using the D-Pad Left/Right buttons. When more MyText pages are available arrow indicators are displayed at the bottom of the page indicating existence of additional MyText pages along with a special boxes-bar at the center indicating the current active MyText page.

    7. Can I customize MyText fields for my personal commonly used strings?

Yes. Papyrus MyText Selection Dialog stores three different MyText value sets for your Subject field, Location field and Note field. Any of the values within these three sets can be fully customized for your personal use.

To customize one of the MyText field sets, enter the desired MyText Selection Dialog (by entering the MyText dialog through the Subject, Location or Note fields), then press the Menu right soft-key button. From within the popup menu use the Add New, Edit Item and Remove Item options to customize the currently active MyText set of items to your desired values.

    8. Can I dial phone numbers included with my appointments and tasks?

Yes. Any phone number string included within any of your appointments or tasks subject, location or note fields can be highlighted and dialed when opening the items in view mode.

When opening an item for viewing all dial-able phone numbers included in the item Subject, Location or Note fields will be marked in blue text. Use the D-Pad Up/Down navigation buttons to move the highlight between all dial-able phone numbers. Pressing the center D-Pad Action button on the currently highlighted phone number will initiate a phone call to that phone number.

    9. How can I switch between Papyrus views? What different methods are available to switch between Papyrus views?

Papyrus offers two methods to switch between views. The default one is using the new Views Picker dialog and the second is using the Views Rotation button.

By default, you will find the View button on the left soft-key. Pressing this button will open the Views Picker dialog allowing you to easily switch to any of the views available with Papyrus. You can select a new view by navigating to the desired view using the D-Pad control or pressing the corresponding digit number for the desired view.

The second method is using the Views Rotation button. To switch to this mode enter Papyrus Settings -> General and un-check the option Use View Selector. After changing this option and exiting the settings Papyrus left soft-key button is now used as a views-rotation button. Use this button to quickly rotate through the different Papyrus views, each press takes you to the following Papyrus view in a rotating order. The left soft-key button caption now displays the upcoming view title and will change upon each press of this button to the next upcoming view.

    10. How can I customize which views are active when rotating between views using the Views Rotation soft key button?

When using the left soft-key button in Views Rotation mode, as described in the previous FAQ, you can customize which views will be included within the views rotation.

Enter Papyrus Options, press the right Menu soft key button and choose the General Settings option. Scroll down the setting and press the Set button for the Rotation active views option.

Use this check box list to choose which views are active in the Views Rotation button. Use this feature to configure only your commonly used views for faster rotation between your most used views.

    11. What is the Human Time option and how can I activate it?

Human Time is mainly targeted for people working in shifts. Let's explain it with a short example: say you're working in shifts and your night shift starts at 6 PM and ends at 2 AM. This means that your night shifts will display on two days in your agenda, today between 6 PM and midnight and tomorrow between midnight and 2 AM.

Using the Human Time option you can configure Papyrus to display such appointments only in the first day and avoid the item display on the second day. Setting your Human Time option to 2 AM will display all appointments that span two days, and end by 2 AM on the second day, only on the first day. Using this option you can keep your agenda display cleaner.

To configure Human Time enter Papyrus Settings -> General. Scroll down to the Human Time option and choose the desired Human Time hour value.
